How
to Get to Falmouth
- By Car:
Using the map, follow the closest route to Falmouth. Route 28
runs right through Falmouth Center. Greater Boston Area: Route 24
South to I-495 to Route 25 to Bourne Bridge and then Route 28 South to Falmouth
or via Route 3 South and cross Sagamore Bridge taking first exit to Falmouth
and follow signs at end to Falmouth and The Islands to Bourne Bridge. Then take
route 28 South to Falmouth. Western Mass: I-90 East to I-495 to
Route 25 and cross Bourne Bridge. Take Route 28 South to Falmouth. New
York City/CT/RI: I-95 North to I-195 East in Providence to Route 25 to
Bourne Bridge. Cross Bourne Bridge and take Route 28 South to Falmouth.
From the Bourne Bridge, driving Route 28 Southbound, to Falmouth is approx. 15
miles, about 25 minutes drive time.
- By Boat:
Falmouth has some of the Cape's best harbors, with at least six
foot depths and every conceivable facility. They are thoroughly protected and
easy to enter. The town marina welcomes transient boats but canít take
reservations. Phone ahead for availability, 457-2550. Note: the Town of
Falmouth Harbormaster monitors VHF Channel 9 and can advise on conditions in
local harbors.
- By Bus:
You can reach bus connections to Falmouth from New York City
(with a transfer in Providence), and Boston through
Bonanza Bus Lines. Call
800-556-3815. Bus Station: 59 Depot Ave., Falmouth, 548-7588. Direct bus
service to Logan Airport (Boston, MA) is available from Falmouth. Local
bus service is provided by the Cape
Cod Regional Transit Authority.
- By Plane:
Falmouth Airpark (548-9617) allows public use by
private planes - single engine or twin up to 5,000 lbs. For commercial flight
information, call the Barnstable Municipal Airport in Hyannis, 775-2020.

Falmouth is the perfect starting point for day trips throughout
Cape Cod and Southern Massachusetts...
- It's an easy drive
to reach the historic Old King's Highway, Route 6A, on the Cape's Northside
which will eventually lead you to the sweeping National Seashore and to
Provincetown.
- In less than an hour
you can reach America's hometown of Plymouth, the Newport mansions, and the
outlets of New Bedford and Fall River.
- Boston and
Providence are just a little over an hour away.
- Falmouth is the
closest mainland point of departure to the pristine island of Martha's
Vineyard. You can take a short 45 minute ride on ferries which depart daily
from Falmouth and Woods Hole. There is also a seasonal ferry connection between
the islands of Martha's Vineyard and Nantucket.
